Experienced Massage Therapist

Ayutherapy is a respected wellness center and healing spa located in the heart of Danville, CA. We are seeking an experienced Massage Therapist to join our growing team in either a part-time or full-time capacity.

We are looking for a professional, reliable, and client-focused Massage Therapist who genuinely enjoys helping people feel better through therapeutic massage, relaxation treatments, pain relief therapies, and holistic wellness care.

Please note: Applicants who do not meet the listed experience, licensing, and commuting requirements will not be considered.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
• Must currently live within commuting distance of Danville, CA
• Minimum 5 years professional hands-on massage therapy experience required
• Active California massage certification/license preferred (CAMTC preferred)
• Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and client-focused
• Strong communication and customer service skills required
• Must be interested in a stable, professional, long-term opportunity

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ideal Massage Therapist is experienced in customizing massage therapy sessions based on individual client needs and comfort levels. Experience with holistic or Ayurvedic therapies is welcome, but not required.

• Arrive on time and communicate reliably with the team
• Learn and apply Ayurvedic therapy techniques where appropriate

Who We're Looking For:
You’re someone who has previously worked in a wellness, spa, or medical office setting and understands the rhythms of client-facing roles. You’re warm, dependable, organized, and calm under pressure. You have a passion for natural health and a knack for keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Experience: Greet and check in clients warmly and professionally, ensuring they feel cared for from the moment they walk in.

• Appointment Management: Schedule, confirm, and adjust client bookings.

• Client Communication: Answer phone calls and emails, provide timely follow-ups, and relay clear, helpful information.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate digital records of client visits, preferences, and treatments.

• Laundry & Cleanliness: Keep therapy rooms stocked with fresh linens and ensure a consistently clean and organized space.

• Herbal Prep Support: Assist practitioners with preparing herbal oils, decoctions, and customized prescriptions.

• Retail Sales & POS: Handle product sales, payments, and manage point-of-sale transactions confidently.

• Product Knowledge: Learn the benefits of Ayurvedic products and support clients in selecting what best suits their needs.

• Inventory Management: Track product levels, receive new stock, and update systems accurately.

• Team Support: Pitch in wherever needed — from restocking shelves to assisting during client events.

• Promotional Support: Help with local outreach, events, and marketing efforts to promote our services and grow our client base.

Your Strengths and Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a wellness center, spa, clinic, or client-focused environment

• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Strong organizational habits and attention to detail

• Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing in a dynamic setting

• Customer-first mindset with a natural ability to build trust and rapport

• Willingness to learn about Ayurveda and natural healing approaches

• Proficiency with scheduling, POS, and record-keeping software (Square or similar)

Ayurvedic Massage Therapist

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional Ayurvedic massage therapy services, promoting relaxation, pain relief, and overall well-being through ancient holistic techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Ayurvedic massage therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs and preferences of clients.
• Conduct client assessments to determine the most suitable Ayurvedic massage techniques.
• Utilize knowledge of Ayurvedic principles, anatomy, and physiology to enhance massage treatments.
• Administer Ayurvedic oil massages, Shirodhara treatments, and other specialized Ayurvedic therapies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with other therapeutic modalities, including deep tissue and trigger point therapy.
• Proficiency in administering various Ayurvedic oil treatments.
